One of the easiest things to do is writing. Isn't it? After all, you just need to write and that's what we all have been doing since our school days. Then, why you look for a writer to do your job?
Being a writer, I can literally tell what this world expects out of us. Some expectations are true but many are truly false. The writer is always over-burden with the expectation and trusts me,we don't have any less responsibility.
Here I've listed a few myths surrounding me as a writer. Writers- don't get scared, they are not real.
We know Everything- We are always overestimated when it comes to knowledge. Writers are not omniscient, we studied the same course as you did. We really need to dig deep into the topic we pick for our pen. Yes, we do brush up our knowledge to keep our writing updated but don't expect us to know everything.
We are WordBook - Writers are not born with grammar book and spellchecker. We can also go wrong in grammar and we also need to double check on spellings. We are the narrators, we know the art of telling a tale and we also know how to catch the details of the story but we are not the language pro. We do mistakes and here I admit.
We can write in No-time - Writers don't always have stories running in their head. We are not really the creator of all the stories roaming in the world. Obviously, we need time to create a heart-catching story. A writer needs some time and space to deal with numerous thought and weave an amazing story around.
We write daily - No, we don't. We are writers, not computers, we take time off. I've seen people expecting writers to write, write and only write. Don't we have other activities to do? Writers also have a life as you all which they love to live more than you think. We don't write daily, some days we just spend reading too.
We've all the time in the world - We have all the spare time in the world. Why? Because we have time to write. Does it make sense? Writing can be a hobby just like any other activity, it's all about preference. Writing takes time, patience, creativity, commitment, efforts and a lot more than what people think. It's more about passion and a way to earn a living.
Writers are not really the ultimate source of knowledge. We do learn things around the world, as everyone else does. We can know the art of telling stories. Yes, you can call us ARTIST.
So, writers out there, pat your back to survive in the world full of false expectations. KEEP WRITING.
